I'm not expecting anymore!I
I had a happy healthy bouncing baby boy on August 27. He's a real treat and it's almost time for me to go back to work now. I've been shopping nonstop for a work wardrobe as I am officially PLUS size now. I was on the verge prior to pregnancy. So maybe I'll convert this to a plus size blog.

I thought I was too old...
and here I am PREGNANT - expecting a baby boy in August! Hence, my protracted absence. I've had to give up my addition to nice clothes - 1) for money and 2) because none fit me any more. The vast majority of maternity clothes are CRAP. And I'm in them already. It has been a real hit to my self-image, but I'm muddling through - it's only temporary right? Maybe when I have more time (ha!) and money (ha! ha!), I will start a fine maternity clothes line. Until then, I'm making the best of Old Navy.
Don't let my grousing about clothes fool you though, I'm completely over the moon about our new family member and can't wait to meet him. All my friends and family have kindly offered all kinds of supplies and support - I couldn't ask for more.

A post about Sarah Palin.....'s makeup artist

I watched the candidacy of Sarah Palin with great interest, not just from a political point-of-view, but also because we're nearly the same age - and couldn't be more different.
A lot of attention was paid to her clothes, hair and makeup. Some poeple see this as a double-standard - I enjoyed it because I was curious. I wanted to know what she wore, what kind of makeup she used and how she managed to transform her hair from the Alaska banana clip look to something a bit more polished.
Well. I hit the mother lode today. Talkingshop.com has a three part interview with Sarah Palin's makeup artist, Amy Strozzi. You can access all three parts through this link here:
Ms. Strozzi loves Voluminous mascara, which is my personal fave, so I'm going to pay close attention to her other recommendations.
Also, on a side note, I found a post on HuffPo about Palin's "heavy blush" - I actually like it and started wearing mine that way. It probably looks wack, but it's fun for a change. See the heavy blush slideshow here:

Still loving Polyvore
Haven't made any new sets in awhile (other than Shania below) but I still love Polyvore. I find myself going there first to see how people style new items from J. Crew.
Sometimes I stop by Polyvore just to favorite new sets. I find it relaxing and inspiring. Here's a set by one of the youngsters I really dig. So simple and classic, but with a sexy twist. Fantastic!

Susan McGraw Keber - wow!
Imagine my suprise last week when I got an email from this lovely lady regarding one of my earlier posts. Recognize her? She is an in-demand mid-life model who is everywhere. In her words:
Most recently you may have seen me in Revlon's Vital Radiance commercials and print campaign...I'm the Cougar in T-Mobile, Kate in Pearle Vision...and through FORD do a lot of print work.
I've seen Susan in ads for Target and Chico's recently. She and I exchanged several emails about life, hair and beauty. Come back for more about this lovely woman!
Shania Twain post-divorce look
Saw on HuffPo this morning that Shania Twain has a new man - who happens to be the ex-old-man of the chick who busted up her marriage.

But that's not the interesting part - look at her faboo simple airport look. I need to copy this! I have the elements except for the scarf. Ebay, here I come.

More blog news
Well, looks like I'm firing this old blog up again. I missed talking about froo-froo fashiony fun stuff! Look for more from me very soon. :-)
Will the real Pia Gronning, please stand up?
Yes dear readers, I was wrong in my earlier post about Pia Gronning, which I plan to fix right up, stat. In the meanwhile, feast your eyes on this gorgeous shot of the real Pia Gronning, sporting J. Crew! Isn't she lovely? I have exchanged several emails with her and will be posting more pictures and information soon.

Now, the question is - who is the model in the J. Crew September catalog?
Yesterday was a big day for my little, sleepy blog
I was contacted by not one, but TWO fabulous mid-life women - Susan McGraw Keber and Pia Gronning! I will be posting updates soon, but in the meanwhile, I have some corrections to make. Stay tuned!

Mrs. O - great site about Michelle Obama style
Thanks to Jezebel, I learned of this awesome site where smart people unpack Michelle Obama's style. I love knowing how much J. Crew plays a role in her wardrobe!
Jezebel is on my NUTS!
Michelle Obama wore all J. Crew on Leno last night and now Jezebel is shopping at J. Crew for all the political women and girls. I've been doing this on Polyvore for months. Off my nuts Jezebel!
